Acoustic Cafe Featured Artist!

September 11th, 2011

I’m so excited to be featured on the radio program Acoustic Cafe as their “One to Watch” artist of the month. Acoustic Cafe is aired on over 75 radio stations at various times throughout the week.  To listen live, check out their list of radio stations, or listen on their website media player at www.acafe.com.  You can click ahead to segment 3 to cut to the chase.

To set the record straight, I have 16 aunt and uncles, and only 6 siblings, but it’s all about the music, anyway!  The segment is sponsored by Bootsy BBQ, and apparently, I have a bottle of it coming my way.  This is amazing, since the only thing I love as much as music is food. I’ll report back about said barbecue sauce.

Thanks for checking it out! Let me know what you think!

See a penny pick it up

July 29th, 2011

Since October of last year I’ve been meeting with a little breakfast club of sorts.  Myself, Alyssandra Nighswonger, David Robison, and Lexi Lee have been making music together. We’re all singer/songwriters, and we all have very different strengths and tastes.  What resulted was Lucky Penny, a loving little collaboration of four part harmonies and diverse instrumentation.  We made a little ep (which you can get here on Bandcamp), recorded some videos (soon to follow), and to wrap it all up neatly, took a tour up the west coast to drop Lexi off at her new home in Seattle.

We kicked off the tour with our EP release show at {open} bookstore in Long Beach, hit San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle. I cannot say thank you enough to all of the people who hosted us, came out, bought cds, and made the whole thing worthwhile.  Breathtaking scenery, amazing music, and, of course, matching tattoos.  That’s love right there.
